Design:
The Axiom Integrated Amplifier was a 30 watt/channel line-level
only amplifier with a passive pre-amp stage. It offered five line-level
inputs and a tape loop. Output transisters were affixed to a steel
plate which was coated in heat-conductive paste onto its large flat
surface (see
the internal view). This plate pressed onto the lid of the casework,
cleverly using it as a heat-sink (the amp only gets a little warm
when in use). Alchemist also released a Maxim
amplifier, which was similar but offered a phono input too. |
