Design:
Twin mono design, class AB. The Signature Power Amplifier was designed by Tim de Paravicini and based on the original APD20a Forseti Power Amplifier design, but with several enhancements. These included the use of totally discrete electronic components rather than the ICs used in the original Forseti, a superior power supply and a thicker front panel on the case.

The Alchemist brochure described the changes thus:

  • Revised output stages, incorporating high bias/current voltage mirrors in the pre driver stage.
  • Tim de Paravicini designed output chokes to stabilise frequency ranges and eliminate any form of DC offset.
  • Tim de Paravicini designed discrete balanced input stage.

Tim also designed a Signature Pre Amplifier to accompany the power amp.
